Event: Community power – myths and facts

ClientEarth believes community energy is essential to Europe’s low carbon energy transition. That’s why they are part of Community Power project, aiming to speed up the development of renewable energy projects by creating a favourable legislative environment and building public support.

On April 21, ClientEarth is helping to organise Community Power project’s workshop in Brussels “A decentralised electricity system – myths and facts” and you can attend.

The day will focus on the many myths and uncertainties about community power in Europe. During the one-day workshop, we would like to shed some light on current discussion topics, including:

  • the status quo of decentralisation in Europe
  • implications of a more decentralised generation for the transmission and distribution grids
  • opportunities for citizen cooperatives to shape the future energy system
  • the influence of the legal framework and investment decisions
